VESTJYSK KUNSTGALLERI was established in 1965 by Tommy and Birthe Voigt and today it is one of
Denmark´s oldest and most renowned galleries for sale of classic and modern art.
Subsequent to a sales boom in the 1960s, VESTJYSK KUNSTGALLERI became one of Denmark´s biggest art galleries with two sales outlets in Jutland and one in Zealand. In the 1970s, the shop in Esbjerg with its approximately 500-square metre floorspace was undisputedly unrivalled in Denmark. In 1981 we moved to the present location, which in 2003 was expanded by a classical arts and Internet-trade department on 1. floor. This means that the gallery has over 200 m2 at its disposal.

Following the death in 1989 of Mr Tommy Voigt, founder of the gallery, Mr Carsten Voigt, the son,
took over the reins. During the ensuing years, business activities were extended through participation in the establishment of Aabenraa Auktionshus A/S since purchasing via auctions became increasingly common. In May 1999 the auction house was sold to Bruun Rasmussen Auctions, however, which again drew full attention to the gallery. Much more than earlier Danish contemporary art now seriously became the focal point and this was increasingly targeted at art societies and interior decoration of commercial offices/factories. Today the gallery is visited by more than 25 art societies and more than 150 companies nation wide have been adorned with fine art. To meet the challenges of the new century VESTJYSK KUNSTGALLERI has set up its own internet homepage and at the same time we have added the name VOIGT FINEART. It will now be possible to view a range of the gallery art selection on the internet. Likewise it will be possible to download photos of specially favoured artists via the internet. From 2002, the Internet portion
grew so extensive that in the following years we have established export
sales to countries as diverse as Germany, Holland, Italy, England, USA,
Canada, Australia and others.
